Together we can make a difference!
City of Refuge Ministries has worked with the small, remote village of Hausa Kope since 2012. This village has little access to many things that we take for granted every day, including electricity and a quality education for its children. Until just last year, they didn't even have access to clean drinking water, leading to many parasitic infections over the years. However, City of Refuge Ministries partnered with the community to make drilling a well possible in their community.
This year, we want to help provide a very needed service to this community--access to quality education. While the government built a school facility years ago, it has been left uncared for and has no teachers for the numerous children living in the village. This lack of education has closed many doors for many children as the area's opportunities for work or trade are very limited. This has led to the overuse of children in the region's common labor trade, fishing on Lake Volta.
We are trying to raise $25,000 to renovate the school building in Hausa Kope. This would not only provide an excellent location for students to begin attending school, but we will also help provide adequate training and support for teachers stationed in Hausa Kope so that all children in the village have access to something that could change their future—an education.
You are part of making this happen! Would you be willing to donate towards our goal? Our hope is to put these monies to work early next year and get this school up and running so that all students in this village will have opportunities beyond what anyone in their family has previously explored. We can't wait to open the doors of this school and welcome in all the children who represent the future of Ghana, the potential, the possibility, the dreams, and the visions.
